About the Clean Clothes Campaign and the Fashioning a Just Transition Manifesto
What is the Manifesto?
The Fashioning a Just Transition Manifesto will set out more or less 10 core principles for climate and environmental action for fashion that embeds the protection of workers’ rights and livelihoods. These principles will be accompanied by background chapters.
The content of the Manifesto will be crowdsourced online and offline, in public, by garment workers and their organisations, young people, the Clean Clothes Campaign Network and it's allies - as well as anyone else who wants to share their thoughts. This crowdsourcing phase will run until November 16th, 2025.
An editing committee made up of young people and workers' rights activists will draft the Manifesto, which will be shared on this e-portal, and then available for comments around December 2025.
The final Manifesto will be published on 1st May 2026.
When it is finished, the Manifesto will act as a guiding star for a Just Transition to a renewed future of fashion.
